APA | Older Australians at risk of life-threatening falls after long COVID confinement

The Australian Physiotherapy Association has published a submission to the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality Investigation into the Impact of COVID-19 on Aged Care. In its submission to the Royal Commission, the APA also reported that many older people living at home neglected much-needed treatment due to fear of infection and ambiguous messaging about essential versus non-essential health treatments. It also noted that the introduction of telehealth was beneficial and urged the government to maintain funding for it, along with digital literacy education for older Australians.
