Home Safety Check List

  • Staying active and on your feet– A useful booklet for patients and their carers produced by NSW Department of Health. Includes a Home Safety Checklist.Order booklet
  • HOME FAST (Home Falls Accident and Screening Tool) – this validated tool is designed to identify older people at risk of falling because of hazards within their home environment. The tool consists of 25 items, and a higher score indicates a higher risk of falling.
  • Home and Community Safety Falls Prevention online workshop – this workshop is designed to train Occupational Therapists and other health care providers to conduct a comprehensive home visit to reduce the risk of falls for older community residing adults. Working together with the older person, the goal is to identify environmental hazards and behavioural risks, to raise awareness of risks and to jointly problem‐solve solutions.
